Life In Babylon

The book of Daniel is incredible! It’s like a rollercoaster ride through mystery, revelation, history, prophecy, and prophetic dreams. You’ve got fiery furnaces and hungry lions, all wrapped up in a fascinating story. Daniel’s life is a true testament to complete abandonment and devotion to God. Babylon, in the book, means ‘confusion,’ and it makes sense because it’s a place of godlessness and false religion. But here’s the thing, the book of Daniel isn’t just about ancient times. It’s got lessons for us too, living in an age and society that doesn’t believe in the God of heaven. It’s like we’re all pilgrims, foreigners, and aliens traveling through a strange land. God has called us and equipped us to live in this new ‘Babylon’ for the same reason he called Daniel to live in historic Babylon. It’s to live fully abandoned to God, and in doing so, we’ll reveal his kingship and kingdom to others. And guess what? We’ll be right at the center of God’s mission to seek and save the world!
